Program Overview

With the expertise of our dedicated teachers and staff, we prepare students for life in global society. We are proud to provide them with the latest technology and strong education foundation through our 50:50 English/Spanish dual immersion program.

What is Dual Immersion? Our Spanish/English Dual Language Immersion Program is a challenging academic program, which offers students the exciting opportunity of being bilingual and bi-literate and becoming academically successful in both English and Spanish. The Program brings together students from English and Spanish language backgrounds to learn academic content through instruction in both languages. All students are provided with a standards based curriculum that is focused on bilingual and bi-literate academic achievement.

What does the research show? Research regarding dual language education shows that once children are fully bilingual, they outperform their peers in English-only programs on standardized state assessments. Students in dual immersion programs have high levels of self-esteem, high academic competence and motivation.  Students are better prepared for the global job market where a second language gives them a competitive edge.

How does the program work? Our program follows the 50:50 model. In Kindergarten through sixth grade, 50% of instruction is in Spanish and 50% of the instruction is in English. Academic subjects (math, social studies, science) are taught in either English or Spanish.  Reading and writing is taught in both languages daily. To achieve the goal of bilingual literacy, long-term parental commitment is necessary to ensure that students remain in the program from through Sixth grade.
